Veterinarians
The medical director and co-owner of Boxford Animal Hospital, Dr. James E. Tanner has practiced medicine since 1991. A native of Norwalk, Connecticut, Dr. Tanner attended the University of Connecticut, where he was awarded a Bachelor's Degree in Pathobiology in 1985. He went on to attend the Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. His professional interests include avian medicine, internal medicine and soft-tissue surgery.
Dr. Tanner and his wife, Dr. Carolyn Clegg-Tanner, co-own Boxford Animal Hospital. They have two children and three pets: a cat named Wilson, a dog named Reyes and Shaquille, a cockatoo.
A member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Association of Avian Veterinarians and the Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Association, Dr. Tanner's hobbies included skiing, gardening and boating.
