Dr. Carolyn Clegg-Tanner has practiced medicine at Boxford Animal Hospital since 1994. A New Jersey native, Dr. Clegg-Tanner attended Hofstra University, where she studied Biology and earned a Bachelor's Degree in History. She went on to attend the Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1990.

Dr. Tanner’s professional interests include internal medicine and exotic pets, especially small mammals. Dr. Clegg-Tanner is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Clegg-Tanner practices medicine at Boxford Animal Hospital alongside her husband, Dr. James Tanner, the hospital’s director. Her hobbies include gardening, crafts, reading, history and volunteering for her child’s Girl Scout troop. Dr. Clegg-Tanner has two children and three pets: a cat named Wilson, a dog named Reyes and a bird named Shaquille.
